This is a pair 6 inch round LED driving lights. They are also neat that they have a built in light that can be uses as Day Time Running lights. These are listed as 168 watts that equates 17094 lumens. What does that mean? Bright. There is a neat feature which is a day time running light. There is hat trick is the Day Time Running Lights can switch between white and amber. The housing is full aluminum with heat sinks built in. They are very robust and sturdy. The mounting brackets are matching and are just as robust and sturdy as the housing for the light. There are also included mounting bolts that are made of stainless steel. There is also an included wire harness tucked in a wire loom. The connectors on the end are for each light and they have water proof seals. The other end of the harness have ring terminals that make it easy to attache to battery connections. There is also an in line fusees along with a relay. The switches are standard rocker switches, but you may need to custom some brackets to mount them. The hardest part will be to make the connections going through the fire wall. There is plenty of wire to cleanly run the wires.

Until now, my experience with Primelux has been with their work lights I put on my mower. Those lights have a basic, no-nonsense rugged design and quality built to them. They aren’t much to look at, but boy are they bright and built tough. This set is also built to be durable, but from a design perspective, it’s much more upscale than the Primelux work lights on my mower. These are built to look as good as they perform, and they’ve nailed it on both form and functionality. I find PrimeLux to be very honest with their product specifications, and these are no exception. I measured current draw, per lamp, at 12.8 volts, to be 6 amps (75 watts for the main beam, plus 2 watts for the DRLs), which is right in line with the advertised specs. The selectable amber/white DRLs look great, and the light is smooth and dispersed. I like how you can’t see the individual LED elements for the DRLs. The front lens bezel is a lot more sculpted, as is the mounting bracket. Actually, these have the nicest looking and most heavy-duty mounting bracket I’ve ever come across. Where others are typically stamped steel, these have a beefy cast aluminum bracket with rubber insulator base that both looks great and makes for a very solid mount. Heat dissipation is good, and the light output is very impressive too. It’s a good long-throw spot beam pattern. The only thing I wish they did differently would be to have an in-line plug on the wires that lead between the relay and the dash switches. It’s an excellent quality wire harness with heavy-gauge wire and great insulation and braided sheathing, but it’s not super “installer-friendly” because you have to remove the switches to fish the harness through a firewall grommet. That’s not really a complaint, just a product improvement suggestion. Many companies charge extra for a harness this nice. At under $160 a set, these are an incredible value. The build quality is consistent with light sets costing much more. The light output is awesome, and they look great.

I have not fully mounted them on my Suburban yet, but I have hooked up the wires temporarily to test them out, and my first impression was, "Damn, they're bright!" I have all sorts of pod lights and bars, and these pod lights outshine my other ones. I love it. You can feel they're made with good, durable material. I would almost never pay this much for any lights, but I was very impressed and have to say, for the value of $289, these are actually well worth it. I bought one a while ago that cost me over $300, and it was nowhere near as bright as these lights. These LED lights are awesome for four-wheeling and fog. Just change the lens cover for what best fits your situation.

Amber is best in the fog, black blocks harsh glare, and clear gives you maximum brightness.
